Botox, along with the other brands of neurotoxins we use, are highly effective in reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are the type of facial wrinkles that develop as a result of repeated muscle movements and facial expressions. These wrinkles are often formed in areas where muscles contract during facial expressions. Common examples include:
(Dynamic wrinkles are distinct from static wrinkles, which are visible even when the face is at rest and are often associated with the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin).
By temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles responsible for facial expressions, neurotoxin not only treats existing wrinkles but also helps prevent the formation of new ones. This is particularly beneficial for individuals in their late twenties and thirties as a preventive measure against early signs of aging.
Neurotoxins can be strategically injected around the brows in order to create a slight lift (by 1-2mm). This provides a more refreshed and youthful look without the need for surgery. This is especially beneficial for individuals experiencing mild to moderate brow ptosis (drooping).
Neurotoxins effectively addresses a gummy smile by targeting the muscles that elevate the upper lip. When strategically injected, it relaxes these muscles, reducing the upward movement of the lip and minimizing the visibility of the gums. This creates a balanced and aesthetically pleasing smile.
Neurotoxins can achieve a lip flip by targeting the muscles surrounding the upper lip. When injected in precise locations, it relaxes these muscles, allowing the upper lip to gently roll outward. The result is a subtle, natural-looking enhancement that contributes to a more defined and lifted appearance of the upper lip
Neurotoxins can be strategically injected into the masseter muscles. These muscles are responsible for chewing and can contribute to a prominent or square jawline when overdeveloped. By relaxing the masseter muscles, neurotoxins helps to slim the jawline, creating a more balanced facial appearance.
Overactive Masseter muscles can also contribute to the formation of TMJ. TMJ (Temporomandibular joint disorder) symptoms include include jaw pain, headaches, and clenching/grinding of the teeth (bruxism). By relaxing the masseter with neurotoxins we can reduce the symptoms of TMJ.
Neurotoxins can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterized by excessive sweating beyond what is necessary for normal body temperature regulation. This condition often affects areas such as the underarms, palms, and soles of the feet. Neurotoxins work by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates sweat glands. By inhibiting this signal, Botox temporarily prevents the overactive sweat glands from producing excessive sweat.
Neurotoxins may also help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores by relaxing the muscles around the pores. When certain muscles are overactive, they can cause the skin to stretch and pores to appear larger. By inhibiting muscle contractions, Botox may contribute to a smoother skin surface and the appearance of smaller pores.
Neurotoxins injections might influence oil production in the skin. Overactive sweat and oil glands can contribute to a shiny complexion and exacerbate issues like acne. By using micro dose injections of neurotoxins throughout the T-zone area we can potentially slow down the oil gland production.
Neurotoxin can be strategically injected into specific areas of the neck to provide a non-surgical neck lift, commonly known as the Nefertiti Neck Lift. The injections target muscles that pull the face downward, helping to redefine the jawline and lift the lower face.
'Barbie Botox' entails injecting a neurotoxin into the trapezius muscles. These muscles span the neck, back, and shoulders. These injections transiently impede nerve cell communication which then inhibits muscular contraction. This will gradually reduce the size of the muscle which will contribute to appearance of a lengthened and more slender neck.
Botox, along with the other brands of neurotoxin mentioned, work by temporarily blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected. The toxin is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. When used in cosmetic procedures, such as reducing wrinkles and fine lines, Botox is injected in small, diluted amounts. Neurotoxins interfere with the transmission of nerve signals to the muscles. Nerves release a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which is essential for muscle contraction. By blocking the release of acetylcholine, Botox causes temporary muscle paralysis or relaxation at the injection site. This prevents the muscle from contracting excessively. This reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles and can prevent them from forming. The effects of Botox are temporary. Over time, the nerve signals gradually return to the treated muscles, and muscle activity resumes. This is why Botox treatments typically need to be repeated every few months to maintain the desired results
Studies show that Botox last around 3 months if the proper amount of units were used. For some individuals it last last up to 5 months.
Dysport should last at least 3 months if the correct amount of units are administered. However, most patients see it last up to 4 months. Some patients can even see up to 5 months of longevity.
According to studies, Daxxify lasts on average about 6 months. However, its duration can range from 5-9 months. It is important to note that while Daxxify lasts longer than other neurotoxins at its recommended dosing it also costs twice as much on average. You can however, reduce the dose to create a duration similar to the other neurotoxins for around the same price.
Xeomin should last 3 months according to studies if the correct amount of units are administered. In practice, I find that Xeomin does not last as long as the other neurotoxins we carry when dosed in a similar way, which is why we choose not to carry it.
Jeauveau should last 3 months according to studies if the appropriate dose is given. I find that the other neurotoxins we carry last longer when equivalent doses are administered, which is why we choose not to carry this brand.
It is challenging to provide a definitive answer because everyone is unique, possessing different genetic makeups and lifestyles. One effective way to discover the best solution for you is to experiment with various brands. However, it's crucial to undertake this exploration under the guidance of a reputable injector who can meticulously mirror your treatments with different neurotoxins.
Several factors may contribute to Botox resistance:
It's essential for individuals experiencing reduced effectiveness or Botox resistance to consult with their healthcare provider. A qualified professional can assess the situation, explore alternative treatment options, and provide personalized recommendations based on the individual's unique circumstances. Switching to a different neurotoxin, such as Dysport or Xeomin, may be considered if Botox is no longer producing the desired results.
For most, Botox starts to take effect in 7-10 days with max results seen in 14 days.
For most, Dysport starts to take effect in 2-5 days but occasionally can take up to 14 days to see final results.
MOST WILL TYPICALLY START TO SEE THE RESULTS OF DAXXIFY IN 2-3 DAYS BUT CAN IT TAKE UP TO 14 DAYS FOR SOME
Jeauveau starts to take effect in 7-10 days with max results seen in 14 days.
